SIX SUSPECTS HELD OVER DONEGAL BURGLARIES

first_imgOne of the elderly victims at a public meeting last monthGARDAÍ have quizzed six men over a spate of burglaries in County Donegal, Donegal Daily has learned. They were lifted in a series of raids involving detectives investigating the horrifying attacks. All of the suspects have been released without charge pending further investigations. However we understand DNA samples were secured during the probe.A number of other lines of enquiry are underway which may help Gardaí place the suspects at the scenes of all the crimes in late January and early February, crimes which sparked outrage and a community fightback against the criminals. All those held by detectives are from Donegal and were known to Gardaí.We understand the investigation is still very active with officers determined to piece together a case to bring before the courts. We also understand forensic evidence, which is still being examined, is a crucial part of the inquiries. All those who were robbed have had specialist security cameras fitted to their homes; whilst local people are continuing to check on them several times per day to reassure them. SIX SUSPECTS HELD OVER DONEGAL BURGLARIES was last modified: March 22nd, 2014 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:burglariesdonegalGardaInvestigationslast_img read more

Another Dead Sea Scroll Fragment Discovered

first_img“A secretive encounter with a Bedouin in a desert valley” has produced a fragment of the Bible transcribed nearly two millennia ago, reported MSNBC News.  The fragment, a portion of Leviticus on parchment, was found near the Dead Sea, and “has given rise to hope that the Judean Desert may yield more treasures.”  The artifact dates from the period of the Bar Kochba revolt in the second century of the Roman Empire.  This is the first discovery of its kind since the 1960s.  The archaeologist reluctantly paid a Bedouin for the fragment for fear it would otherwise be lost. The land of the Bible remains a buried treasure.  Only a small percentage of potential sites have been explored, and only a small fraction of artifacts have been uncovered.  Each fragment found in this politically-troubled land has enormous potential to shed light on the greatest story ever told.(Visited 4 times, 1 visits today)FacebookTwitterPinterestSave分享0last_img read more

We’re working on a fix, but not quite there yet. (If you upgrade, you’re probably OK, but we’re seeing some issues and wouldn’t want you to have to deal with non-working software!)The majority of our products are plugins, and we simply haven’t had access to working builds of all the applications our products plug into on Mavericks yet to test with. As soon as we have access, testing starts, and we’ll do our best to ensure you wont run into any problems. There are ongoing discussions on the Mavericks forum on Creative Cow about different video editing and motion graphics applications and their compatibility with Mavericks. That is a great place to look if you’re seeking trouble with a particular issue – or create a new post if you’re the first to recognize a compatibility error.Toolfarm goes in-depth to look at most of the major video editing applications and any known compatibility issues with OSX Mavericks:As of the last update to this post, Avid was not yet providing OSX Mavericks support.Final Cut Pro 7 is running in OSX Mavericks, but because of its end of life status we can bet that this may be the last major OSX upgrade that supports legacy FCP.For a ton more info on OSX Mavericks compatibility, also covering Telestream and DaVinci Resolve, check out the full post over at ToolFarm. Background rendering in your video editing app may appear to be disabled in OSX Mavericks. Gambhir crisis: KKR captain ignites club vs country debate

first_imgIndian opener Gautam Gambhir may well be ruled out of crucial India tours due to shoulder and groin injuries.  Gambhir, who has been appointed the captain for the West Windies tour, may, in fact, miss the plane after having been advised rest for up to six weeks. Vice-captain Suresh Raina might lead the Indian team in that case. But in such a scenario, Gambhir’s decision to play for Kolkata Knight Riders and risk his Team India role, has stoked the club versus country debate. The injury of Gambhir, advised rest for up to six weeks, will rule him out of the upcoming West Indies tour and possibly the crucial Test and ODI  series against England soon after. Andrew Leipus, KKR physiotherapist, had, in fact, written a letter to N. Srinivasan, secretary of the BCCI, spelling out Gambhir’s injury. Leipus, who was Team India physiotherapist in the past, in fact, said Gambhir injured his shoulder during the World Cup final and has since aggravated it playing in the IPL. Making matters worse is the fact that Gambhir was given the additional charge of leading Team India since M.S. Dhoni, along with other seniors Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan, have been rested. Virender Sehwag, who also played the IPL only, went in for a shoulder surgery after Delhi Daredevils were knocked out. Many seniors opted to play the IPL, very much a domestic tournament run by the BCCI and decided to give international duty in West Indies a miss. While the IPL may be an international event with high standard pressure cricket, the tournament is international only in spirit and domestic in essence. The BCCI will have to set clear guidelines – playing for Team India has to take precedence over all else. The IPL may be a devil in this context, but it’s one created by the BCCI itself. The profits the IPL brings in do force the BCCI to play devil’s advocate rather than prosecutor. Headlines Today spoke to South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs who said that for a player, country should come before the club. However, he felt that the current controversy could be because of some miscommunication between Gambhir and KKR physio. Gambhir, meanwhile, claims he didn’t know the details of the scans he underwent and the reports of the same. Gautam said Leipus didn’t want to discuss the reports before the match against Mumbai Indians. On Wednesday, when KKR lost to Mumbai Indians in a crucial match of the fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gautam said, “I haven’t got the report. I still need to speak to the physio. I will speak to him.”advertisementlast_img read more
